Had a CEREC crown done a month ago. My dentist warned me that I might feel some irritation in my gums for a week or so after the procedure and advised me to do salt water rinses. It’s been well over the time she mentioned and I’m still having pain. It’s alwo bleeding when I brush. Did something go wrong?

Brenda,
There are a few things that come to mind. First, you should know that for most healthy patients they’ll heal in the amount of time your dentist suggested with CEREC Crowns. However, if you’re a smoker or have any other health issues, the healing time can be extended by a few weeks.
That being said, the pain you’re experiencing has me concerned. It’s possible you’ve got an infection. I’d suggest you go see your dentist again and have them evaluate. It can sometimes be hard to get down in there to get the crown really cleaned. That can allow bacteria to build up.
Another possibility is the margins are off on your crown. If that’s the case, your dentist will have to re-do the crown.
