I got a CEREC crown. It’s next to my front tooth, but doesn’t match it at all. I was told it would look like my natural teeth. I’ve had one other crown. It was in the back, but from what I could tell it did match my other teeth. Is this a problem with cerec crowns?

You’ve asked a great question. CEREC crowns can be made to perfectly match your natural teeth. If yours aren’t matching, the problem is more likely to be with your dentist. If you’ve used the same dentist as your last crown, then my guess is because the tooth is in the back ( a molar maybe? ) you can’t tell that it doesn’t match your tooth. With this second crown being in such a visible part of your smile, the difference will be more obvious.

Have you discussed your concern with your dentist? He or she should be willing to re-do the crown if it doesn’t match. If you have trouble getting that, you could go somewhere else and get a second opinion. Don’t tell the second dentist who your dentist is because they might be pals. Just as him or her to evaluate the color. If the second dentist agrees with you, it will probably encourage your dentist to do it again or refund you. Then you can go to a more experienced cosmetic dentist. You’ll get a definite match then.
