I have a cerec crown, but I was thinking of getting my teeth whitened. If I did that, would it damage the crown?

Elizabeth,
Whitening your teeth won’t damage your crown, but it won’t whiten it either. If your CEREC crown is very visible, then you’ll want to get another one made to match your new teeth. If you don’t and the tooth is visible, there will be an obvious difference in their color depending on how much whiter you want to go.
If you decide to go ahead with the whitening, be sure you do the whitening before you re-do the CEREC crown. This way, your cosmetic dentist will be able to match the crown to the new color of your teeth. It is much more accurate to match a crown to a color, then it is to try and guess who white you need to get the teeth to match a new crown. Coloring a crown is an exact science, whitening is not.
Most patients are thrilled with whiter teeth, so if you’re looking for an inexpensive makeover it’s a great one. It makes you look years younger.
