I have a serious dental fear. Like really serious. I havne’t been in years, but now I think I have an infection in a tooth. I think I can go, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to be drinking wine to pull it off. Can you drink wine at a dental appointment?

Emily,
I’m just picturing you sitting back in the dental chair, taking a swig of your favorite wine. Depending on how much you imbibe, maybe you and the dental staff are singing show tunes by the end of the appointment. Though, you definitely wouldn’t want to share with the staff. You’ll want them completely sober. Though it may seem like a fun way to get through a dental appointment, it probably isn’t the most effective way to deal with dental fear.
I have a better solution for you. If I were in your position, I’d go to a dentist who uses sedation. Depending on how strong of a sedation option you’d like, you may not even remember the appointment. Either way, it will be totally pain free.
Whatever you do, don’t put off going to the dentist. If you do have an infection, it will spread.
