IF I need to replace two teeth can I do that with dental implants and still get my teeth whitened?
Simon C. – Ohio
Simon,
You can definitely have dental implants and white teeth. The most important thing is that you get your teeth whitened before you have the implants placed. This way your dentist can match the implant crown to the level of whiteness you desire of the rest of your teeth. A good cosmetic dentist can match them perfectly to your whitened teeth.
There is something to be even more careful about than matching your teeth. You want to choose the dentist who does your implants very carefully. It is a highly complicated procedure which takes a great deal of skill and training.
Dentists don’t get enough training in dental implants with their general degree. You want someone who has done a lot of post-graduate training in implantology.
For instance, here is a sampling of Dr. Rothwell’s post graduate work. She studied at the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, at the LD Pankey Institute near Miami, from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and from other advanced training programs in Buffalo, New Orleans, and many other cities.
If you don’t get a dentist with significant implant training, you not only put yourself at a higher risk for dental implant failure, but you also risk serious complications if things go wrong.
