I got a CEREC crown. Whenever I eat, food gets trapped under it. I brush and brush, but can’t seem to get the food out. Is there some special tool that deals with this?

Susan,
If you’re getting food trapped under your crown, that means you have open margins. Your dentist should never leave open margins. It will lead to decay. I would go back immediately and have him or her re-do the CEREC crown. Because these are computer milled, they’re usually more accurate, so the problem isn’t the type of crown, but your dentist overlooking some details.
Don’t be too intimidated to ask your dentist to repair this. If you take care of it right away, he should fix it. If you wait until there are more problems with your teeth, which will be inevitable in this type of situation, you’ll be stuck replacing it at your own cost. That’s on top of paying for new repairs.
