I want to get a CEREC crown, because of the convenience, but I’m a little concerned it won’t look as natural because it is made by a computer.

CEREC crowns are milled from porcelain, so they will have similarities of your natural teeth. CEREC patients love the convenience of one appointment, and as a result, only need one anesthetic shot. WooHoo!

That being said, many expert cosmetic dentists, such as Drs. Lenick and Rothwell, recognize that they don’t have the same subtle gradients as your natural teeth. The reason for that is they are milled out of a single block of porcelain. Hand milled crowns, can be manipulated much more in their aesthetic quality. The CEREC crowns look great on back teeth. You won’t be able to tell a difference between them or your natural teeth. For a front tooth, you might want something else. A great dentist can make them look stunningly beautiful.
