I’m probably the last person on the planet to see the soloist, but I’ve finally seen it. It was brilliant, especially Jaime Foxx. It looks like one of his teeth is missing for that role. Did he get a dental implant afterward because his teeth look perfect now?
Levi
Dear Levi,
The Soloist is a great movie. In the case of that particular role, he did not have his tooth removed and then replaced with a dental implant. But, he did have part of it chiseled out. I only know that because he said that in an interview. Now what he had done to repair it would depend on the size of the chip. It could be repaired with dental bonding, porcelain veneers, or a porcelain crown if the chip is too large.
However, based on the four different pictures I’ve posted above, you can see he’s had work done that had nothing to do with his roles. Early pictures of Mr. Foxx shows that he had a gap and teeth with an overbite, both of which no longer exist. Plus, his teeth are significantly whiter.
What Could Give Him that Smile?
There’s no doubt he has a gorgeous smile. Generally, that kind of smile makeover is done by porcelain veneers by a skilled cosmetic dentist. However, other procedures could do the same thing such as a combination of:
- Porcelain Crowns
- Invisalign
- Teeth Whitening
If you are interested in a smile makeover yourself, the only way to get a guaranteed beautiful smile is to use a highly skilled and artistic cosmetic dentist. Look for someone who is accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD).
